Birds in the Reeds

Getting to know birds offers a good chance to test your auditory and visual memory. Thanks to Aire Orula, ornithologist from the Tartu Nature School, many festival visitors will get the chance to improve their ornithology skills and knowledge.

“Listen – this bird makes a low, dry and rolling kr´r´r´rah sound whiles the other one a hoarse throaty karra-karra-karra-kiit-kiit-kiit. The sound of this bird sounds like a flute tune but this one reminds one of the buzz of the old sewing machine. It is a real concert of sounds! Look – this species of birds usually flies over the water as a couple and has a white belly. This guy, on the other hand, has three black stripes on the tail wing!”
