Viking Ship “Turm”

To celebrate Seto Folk taking place on the shore of the beautiful lake Õrsava, the viking ship “Turm” from the Emajõgi River Barge Society will join the festival. What does it feel like to row like a Viking? How to hoist a sail and how big of a relief was the wind to the ancient travellers? Step on board, let´s undo the ropes and try it for ourselves!

The Viking ship “Turm“ is a stunning example of the art of shipbuilding. The 12m long ship was built by the shipmasters of the Emajõgi River Barge Society and its first journey was to carry the song festival fire from Tartu towards the sea along ancient waterways. Later “Turm” has sailed around the Baltic Sea and travelled over 2000 km through Europe from Paris to Lübeck.

The crew invites you to join them at Reegi Harbour where trips will start every half an hour. The ship can fit 12 people at a time and the ride costs 2 euros.
