Youth Hike

Setomaa´s forests and hills hide the trails and sacred spots of our ancestors that are usually not portrayed on maps nor presented to the public. We might even walk through or pass one of these sites without even noticing it. So how can we notice them better and what to do with them? Is this knowledge even needed today anymore? This youth hike focuses on the holy places – sacred groves and sacrificial sites – that exist between the nature and the cultural heritage. What does current nature conservation and old sacred groves have in common? How to bring youth closer to nature so the fast pace of life won´t get a hold of them? These topics are open for discussion throughout this hike that is led by the young trip guide Martin Tikk. alumni of the Tartu Nature School.

There is no age limit for participants on this hike – youth is just a question of feeling!
