Nedsaja Village Band is made up of 3 men (one for Värksa, one from Tartu and one from Canada) who now all live in the same tiny village in the southern area of Estonia called Setomaa. In 2013, they came together to play the annual village party, rehearsing just once beforehand and have now blossomed into an ensemble that plays almost weekly all over the country. Consisting of the speedy and melodic runs of Toomas Valk’s garmon (small Russian accordion), the sweet grooves of Iisak Andreller’s bass, the solid strumming of Paul Hunt’s acoustic guitar and lead vocals from all three men, Nedsaja Küla Bänd’s repertoire ranges from Estonian, Russian, Irish and Canadian traditional songs and covers to their own material. Their music is incredibly fun, full of energy and irresistibly danceable.
