Bat Discovery Trip

“Are you a pond bat or a common noctule? Who the heck knows?!”

When the night falls in Setomaa, the animals start to fly! Does this sound strange? It gets even stranger: while the visitors are enjoying the festival, these guys are hanging, heads down, in cellars, tree holes, attics and caves. As you might have guessed, we´re talking about mysterious bats, many of whom have found a perfect habitat around the Lake Õrsava. With their great equipment – that is the wing membrane and their echolocation ability – they offer thrilling experiences to everyone wandering around at night.

Discover how to notice the bats and what kind of peculiar lives do they actually live on this night trip with the Tartu Nature School guide.
